AEN's LGBT Mission The Atlanta Executive Network, a non-profit corporation, is one of the largest LGBT professional networking organizations in the country.
AEN's mission is to be the premier LGBT business organization in the state of Georgia that fosters new business and social networking relationships within the diverse LGBT community and its supporters and coordinates prominent programs that advocate relevant issues. Each monthly meeting features a prominent program, with time reserved before the featured section of the event for networking, when everyone can introduce themselves and promote their businesses.
Career Program History AEN was founded in May 1992 by 15 individuals led by its first president, Allen Jones, who believed that LGBT people had much to offer to each other and to the community. The organization began with a belief that, by sharing resources and directing business to each other, its members could improve their professional and personal lives. The founders foresaw the power of professional networking to help eliminate negative stereotypes and discrimination. They agreed that everyone in the community would be welcome. Today, AEN continues to bring professional people together for empowerment and career networking in service to the LGBT community. AEN hosts prominent speakers, forums and networking events.
