Aida Rentas founded The Grass Roots Institute, which she currently runs, in 2005. Its mission is to support children of single parents during their vacations from school. Her belief that we all need to be involved in our community and political processes still drives her today. Ms. Rentas received the 1996 HRC Community Award.
Pastor Bradley E. Schmeling currently serves as the senior pastor of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Atlanta. In 2006, a high-ranking bishop filed charges against him because he was in a committed relationship with another pastor. In January 2007, a disciplinary committee voted to remove Pastor Schmeling from the clergy roster, but not before suggesting that the policy that precludes homosexuals should be changed.
Program includes professional networking, speaches, and Q&A session.
