From the AEN President ...
 It is hard to believe that Atlanta Pride has come and gone, and without the historical monsoons! I hope that everyone was able to participate in the festivities throughout the week. AEN was honored to be able to host the kick-off event at our June meeting held at the Carter Center. Aida Rentas and Pastor Bradley Schmeling, the Pride grand marshals, delivered powerful and motivational speeches to AEN members and guests.
Beyond Pride, our annual summer party is coming up next Thursday! This year, for the first time ever, we are having a cookout! As always, there will be plenty of networking opportunities, free food, cash bar, and raffle and prizes. Please make plans to join us at Blake’s on the Park, Thursday, July 19, at 6 p.m.
On August 16 at Emory University, in cooperation with Youth Pride, we're proud to offer a special program devoted to the LGBT business leaders of the future. Topics will include career aspirations, college plans, and obstacles along the way. Please visit www.aen.org for more details.
If you have been looking for ways to get more involved with AEN and the community, we are actively looking for volunteers in the following areas: memberships, meetings & hospitality, and corporate partnerships. As the fall approaches, we are also recruiting for seats on our board of directors. If you are interested in any of these positions, please contact me directly.
